Learn how to change the email address associated with your account. You can update your email address yourself through the Profile settings using a verification code sent to your new email.

Steps to Update Your Email Address

  1. Navigate to Your Profile Click on your avatar or account menu and select My account. Ensure you're on the Profile details tab.

  2. Click Edit Find the read-only Email field and click the Edit button next to it.

  3. Enter Your New Email Address In the "Change account email address" form, enter your new email address in the New Email field and click Request Verification Code.

  4. Check Your New Email Inbox A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your new email address. Check your inbox (and spam folder if needed) for the code.

  5. Enter the Verification Code Enter the 6-digit code in the Verification Code field and click Verify Email.

  6. Log In With Your New Email After successful verification, you'll see the message: "Email updated successfully! Please log using your new email address." You'll be automatically signed out and need to log in again using your new email address.

After verifying your new email, you will be automatically logged out. Make sure you remember your password so you can log back in with your new email address.

If you need to cancel the email change before verification, click the Cancel button in the verification form.

Important Information

  • Verification Code Expiration: The verification code expires in 24 hours. If your code expires, you'll need to request a new one.

  • Rate Limiting: If you have a pending email change, you may need to wait a few minutes before requesting a new verification code.

  • Automatic Sign Out: You'll be signed out immediately after successfully verifying your new email address.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter any of these errors, here's what they mean:

  • "Invalid email format" - The email address you entered is not in a valid format. Double-check for typos.

  • "Email already in use" - Another account is already using this email address. You'll need to use a different email.

  • "New email is same as current email" - The email you entered is already your current email address.

  • "Verification code expired. Please request a new one." - Your verification code has expired after 24 hours. Click Edit again and request a new code.

  • "Invalid verification code" - The code you entered doesn't match. Double-check the code in your email and try again.

  • "Please wait X minutes before requesting a new code" - You have a pending verification code. Wait a few minutes before requesting another one.

Once your email is successfully updated, all future login attempts and account notifications will use your new email address.
